Bản Tin Liên Hội Nhân Quyền Việt Nam ở Thụy Sĩ

Giải Nobel Hòa Bình cho nhà văn tù nhân Lưu Hiểu Ba
Từ
thủ đô Na Uy, Ủy Ban Nobel Hòa Bình cho biết, không kể Trung Cộng, có 18
nước sẽ không cử đại diện tham dự Buổi Lễ Trao Giải Nobel Hòa Bình cho
nhà văn tù nhân Lưu Hiểu Ba. Đó là A Phú Hản, Arabie saoudite, Colombie,
Cuba, Ai Cập, Ba Tư, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Maroc, Hồi quốc, Phi Luật Tân,
Nga, Serbie, Soudan, Tunisie, Ukraine, Venezuela và Việt Cộng. Trái với
sự tuyên truyền của Bắc Kinh, trừ Việt Cộng và Cuba, không phải tất cả
các nước nêu trên đều công khai tẩy chay Buổi Lễ Trao Giải Nobel Hòa Bình
dưới áp lực hoặc chịu sự mua chuộc của Trung Cộng (Phi Luật Tân là một
thí dụ phục tùng vì bị áp lực). Một số nước đã đưa ra những lý do khác
nhau khiến họ sẽ không có mặt ngày mai trong biến cố lịch sử này. Kể cả bà
Navi Pillay, Cao ủy Nhân Quyền LHQ, cũng viện dẫn lý do riêng. Tuy nhiên
bà đã lên tiếng kêu gọi Bắc Kinh trả tự do cho nhà văn Lưu Hiểu Ba và bày
tỏ mối quan tâm đối với việc đàn áp bà Lưu Hà, vợ ông Lưu Hiểu Ba và hàng
trăm nhà dân chủ đối kháng Trung Hoa khác. Nước Nga cũng vậy, vắng mặt
tại Oslo không có nghĩa là tẩy chay. Một số nước không dám tới vì bộ mặt
Nhân Quyền chẳng có gì để hãnh diện (Hà Nội là một thí dụ, cộng với thái
độ phục tùng Trung Cộng). Trái lại, 44 nước có tòa đại sứ tại Na Uy sẽ cử
đại diện tham dự. Đặc biệt là hai nước Ba Tây và Nam Phi, cũng như tất cả
các nước thành viên Liên Hiệp Âu Châu và các nước thuộc Khối Phi Liên Kết
do Ấn Độ, Nam Dương lãnh đạo. Sự có mặt của hai nước sau này là một thắng
lợi rất đáng kể cho Ủy Ban Nobel Hòa Bình và một sự thất bại nặng nề cho
Trung Cộng và chư hầu.
Từ
Genève, tại trụ sở Liên Hiệp Quốc, vào những giờ cuối ngày hôm nay, 24 tổ
chức Phi Chính Phủ đã đồng ký tên vào một bản Tuyên Bố Chung bày tỏ sự Đoàn Kết với tân khôi nguyên Nobel
Hòa Bình Lưu Hiểu Ba. Đồng thời, các tổ chức này thúc giục bà Cao ủy Nhân
Quyền LHQ nên đi Oslo tham dự Lễ Trao Giải Nobel Hòa Bình 2010 và mở một
cuộc họp báo đưa ra ánh sáng tấn thảm kịch của dân tộc Trung Hoa bị cưỡng
đoạt trắng trợn những quyền Tự do căn bản Con Người nêu trong Bản Tuyên
Ngôn Toàn Cầu về Nhân Quyền.

24 NGOs Urge U.N. Rights Chief to Attend Oslo Nobel Ceremony
and Show Support for Chinese
Dissident
GENEVA, December
9, 2010 - An international coalition of 24 human rights and
non-governmental organizations appealed today to U.N. rights chief Navi
Pillay to reverse her decision to skip Friday's Nobel award ceremony for
imprisoned Chinese dissident Liu Xiaobo.
"We urge the
High Commissioner to go to Oslo, attend the award ceremony, and convene a
press conference that will spotlight the plight of the 1.3 billion
Chinese citizens who are systematically denied the basic guarantees of
the Universal Declaration of Human Rights," said the statement.
Led by the
Geneva-based rights group UN Watch, the signatories include the World
Movement for Democracy from the U.S.,
SOS Racisme of France, and activist organizations from India, Venezuela
and Liberia.
"The world
spotlight in Oslo
tomorrow will be exceptional - it's a golden opportunity that the U.N.
should not squander," said UN Watch executive director Hillel Neuer.
UN Watch has
worked closely with Yang Jianli, the exiled Chinese dissident
representing Nobel Peace Prize winner Liu Xiaobo's family, whose open
letter yesterday strongly criticized the U.N.'s absence. Yang was a
keynote speaker in April at the Geneva Summit on Human
Rights and Democracy, organized by UN Watch and 25 other human rights
NGOs. In July, UN Watch worked with Yang's
Sparrow Initiative to demand justice for the forced evictees of the
Shanghai World Expo.

The
undersigned human rights and non-governmental organizations pay tribute
to jailed Chinese dissident Liu Xiaobo on his being selected to receive
the Nobel Peace Prize award.
We regret that, as claimed by China,
18 nations are supporting its boycott of the award ceremony tomorrow in Oslo. We fully
reject China’s
attempt to describe this courageous champion of human rights as
"subversive and criminal," and its denunciation of the award as
an "obscenity". On the contrary, no award could be more fitting
on international Human Rights Day.
We further regret to learn that the Norwegian Nobel Committee confirmed
that U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay has also
declined to attend, as reported
by Radio Australia.
We urge the High Commissioner to go to Oslo, attend the award ceremony, and
convene a press conference that will spotlight the plight of the 1.3
billion Chinese citizens who are systematically denied the basic
guarantees of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
